We take pride in offering you the first meal of the day made from a selection of fresh Welsh local ingredients. Each morning we will prepare for you a breakfast of your choice. Breakfast service is relaxed and informal and will provide a perfect start to your day. The products and ingredients we use for your breakfast are top quality and wherever possible, locally produced; for example, our pork & leek sausages and delicious dry cured bacon are sourced 1.6 miles down the road from Chris Hayman the Butcher and our eggs are Welsh and free range. We have vegetarians in the family so we are well practised in delivering a tasty and enjoyable meat free alternative. For those requiring a continental breakfast, we have a breakfast bar teasingly loaded with a selection of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt, homemade bread, preserves and honey (bread rolls, cured meats and croissants are also available on request the evening before). Your breakfast will be served in our splendid dining room on the ground floor. We are more than happy to cater for all dietary requirements, please do let us know in advance of your arrival at Gellihaf if you have any allergies so we can make sure that we have planned in advance.
Our pork & leek sausages and delicious dry cured bacon are sourced 1.6 miles down the road from Chris Hayman the Butcher. Seasonal tomatoes are picked fresh from our greenhouse or otherwise locally sourced from the greengrocer. Mushrooms are sautéed in Welsh butter and also share the plate with a good serving of baked beans. These components make up our full Welsh breakfast. A selection of these ingredients may be served with your choice of large soft poached eggs or fried eggs or lightly scrambled as you prefer.
Our speciality vegetarian breakfast is a favourite of the house where even the most ardent of carnivores’ delight in its taste. We will prepare for you a fusion of avocado, chilli and lime on toast, topped with a soft poached egg (If you prefer we are happy to prepare your eggs any way you wish) and we guarantee once savoured, you’ll be so impressed you’ll request the recipe so that you can re-create a little of the Gellihaf ‘experience’ on return to your home.
For those not requiring a cooked breakfast we offer a continental breakfast bar loaded with a selection of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt, freshly baked bread, preserves and honey, more than enough to tease the taste buds. A toaster is provided. Keep your eye out for ‘specials’ Cath makes wonderful vegan oat pancakes on weekends.
