Cardiff and its environs are easily reached. By Car it is 15 miles and takes approximately 30/40 minutes (depending on the time of day and traffic density) to arrive at the city centre. A highly recommended alternative starts with a short 20-minute brisk walk (alternatively we would happily taxi you) to get to our local train station, from there you can catch a direct train to Cardiff Central station which will take between 40 minutes’ hassle free.
Cardiff has many vibrant attractions from the ancient Cardiff Castle and the National Museum of Wales to iconic sporting venues such as the Principality Stadium and the Cardiff City Stadium. There is always plenty to see and do in this city. It is easy to love Cardiff as it’s easily navigated, full of beans and most importantly, very friendly. Over the recent past it has shed its grimy industrial image and has developed and attracted many creative people, events and shops who have transformed the city. For example, Cardiff has managed to attract a quality collection of boutique and high end shops including the leading marque John Lewis. There is plenty of choice for everyone, a wander around the many high-street stores in St David’s Centre, or meandering through the many arcades and finding unique designer shops, like those in the Royal Arcade which is the oldest arcade in Cardiff, having been built in 1858 and a Grade II listed building. The choice is bewildering, Jo Malone, The White Company, Pretty Green, John Ian designer shoes and many others, Cardiff has it all.
When it comes to eating in Cardiff there is an absolute plethora of restaurants and eateries. So much so, we recommend using the ‘Wriggle’ app to discover independent restaurants & cafes within the greater Cardiff area. We highly recommend Asador 44 for anyone who not only enjoys quality steak but attentive service, fine wine and cheese (they have a whole room dedicated to it!). Asador 44 is all about flavour and simplicity. Their aim is to bring a modern, refined and relaxed take on chargrilling impeccably sourced meat, fish and vegetables over charcoal and wood. Book Here
